Growing up, Neil was surrounded by a family of lawyers: Presiding Circuit Court Judge Joseph M. Hocklander (Grandfather); Vivian Gaines Johnston, Jr. (Grandfather); Neil C. Johnston, Sr. (Father); Vivian Gaines Johnston, III (Uncle); Vivian Gaines Johnston, V (Cousin). In 2014 Neil married Abbey Lee Johnston, adding another lawyer to the family. Abbey and Neil have two wonderful and hyper-active dogs (Charlie & Annie) and two equally hyperactive children: Tripp & Cille.
